Share recipients should also update any bookmarks.If you have shared documents with others, you will need to re-share these documents after migration.

Links to documents on websites will need to be updated, including favorites/bookmarks.

(Note that shares outside of the university were not enabled prior to the migration, so shares will only be with other U-M accounts.) This means that if the person the document was shared with clicks a link in an old email or bookmarked the document, that link will no longer exist. Links to online files (documents, spreadsheets, and presentations) will be available in the new platform to anyone who currently has access, however the URL for those files will change. Impacts & Actions Needed After the Migration File Sharing

Items in the online OneDrive Recycle Bin will NOT be migrated.

Microsoft Office applications and files installed on a local device will not be affected during the migration period. Consider downloading and syncing any documents that you must have access to on July 1.

We anticipate that most, but not all, migrated content will be accessible by July 1. This is especially true for users who had large amounts of data stored in OneDrive.

Updated July 2: Approx. 84% of OneDrive users have had their data migrated. Some users are reporting issues with accessing and syncing their OneNote Notebooks, which the project team is currently troubleshooting. Updated July 8: Over 99% of OneDrive users have had their data migrated. See the OneNote section at the bottom of this page. Mac users should contact the ITS Service Center for assistance. Updated July 9: A solution for syncing OneNote Notebooks on Windows machines is available. See the OneNote section at the bottom of this page. Updated July 12: A solution for syncing OneNote Notebooks for both Windows and macOS desktops is now available. ITS will migrate files and their share settings. If you currently store files in U-M Office 365, they are likely in OneDrive. The majority of data owned by U-M users is in OneDrive, including uploaded files, files created via Office Online tools, and files saved from downloaded Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
